I Have A Dream By Martin Luther King Jr. - 983 Words

Freedom Promised On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a speech of the millennia which was considered a radical revolution towards freedom. Martin Luther King Jr, also referred to as King Jr., was a Baptist minister and activist who fought for the rights of African-American. During the late 1950s and early 1960s, America was on the brinks of collapsing towards a civil right war. Leaders were across the United States creating factions of people. However, King Jr. was not an ordinary leader. He was a man with a dream. A dream that he constantly, throughout his speech, is talking about. A dream where there is no discrimination among people and freedom is equal for everyone. Being the largest minority group of that time, still African-American were treated like a poor slave. He says, â€Å"But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination†(King Jr. â€Å"I Have a Dream†). This is the part where he wants the audience to realize and wake up. He wants his audience to realize that it is time to raise their voice and fight for their freedom. Justice was lean during those times (the early 1960s) and the African-American were always the target of this brutality. In the second part of the speech, Martin Luther King Jr. talking about the injustice of the government. Justice was nowhere to be found. Equality did not mean equal and the colored people were seen as slaves by everyone. King Jr. was tired of this brutality. He is repeated talking about gaining the civil rights of this government, but he wants to do this with love and peace. He is portraying himself as an example to empower justice through peace and love. He wants the whites to see the black as equal and that could not be done through war and combat. He wants people to recognize his ideas as ideas about peace and equality rather than war and brutality. Making a noun plural in English is pretty easy. You usually just pop an -s or -es at the end. The German language is still straightforward, but it does have some more rules to consider, due to the fact that German nouns have genders. This is a look at plural nouns that end with -n or -en.   The nouns in this group start out as mostly feminine and add either –n or –en at the end to form the plural. The chickens was frozen and boiled, deboned, and cooled by a fan to room temperature. The chicken was refrigerated overnight and the next morning blended with other ingredients. The chicken salad was put in a thermal container and transported to 16 different school sights and held at room temperature until lunchtime. The chicken became contaminated during deboning. Probably because the food was not cooled fast enough. Some of the symptoms that a person has when he or she has become infected with the bacteria are vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, fever and nausea. The duration of the illness is approximately 24 to 48. If you have any of the above mentioned symptoms one should drink plenty of water and other fluids to prevent dehydration and get plenty of rest. Some people may require a visit to his or her doctor for treatment. The doctor can treat the skin infection by making an incision and draining the infected area and by prescribing antibiotics. Individual and environmental precautions that can be taken to prevent further outbreaks are: good hand washing techniques, use soap and running water when washing hands before and after eating, as well as after using the bathroom. Staph can exist on environmental surfaces. Therefore, sanitation of these areas should be done regularly. Most institution and eating places have guidelines for sanitation for these areas. People should also make sure that shared items are cleaned, such as your computer, cell phone, scissors clippers, children toys, and exercise equipment. At higher altitudes, there also exists another form of hypoxia known as hypemic hypoxia. It occurs when the hemoglobin molecule in the blood fails to transport the oxygen inhaled. Following studies from a book by (Alexander 2014, P, and 575-242) it can be deduced that this happens because the carbon monoxide gas binds in an irreversible way to the hemoglobin, therefore, loading the body fluid transport mechanism. Regarding health, the impact of this disaster, to the pilot on the flight, lack of sufficient oxygen at a higher altitude becomes one of the most dangerous occurrences that can lead to sudden death. This happens such that in high altitudes, there exists little oxygen pressure which has little capability to push the oxygen gas into the human lungs, and the bloodstream upon inhaling. As a result of this decrease in oxygen gas in the body, its supply to body tissues and organs is undermined. This results to malfunctioning of various organs in the body such as brain heart and kidneys. When organs are impaired, human life faces a threat since they are the core organs that support human life. This oxygen starvation is the reason behind death occurrences that are witnessed in aircraft operations. For example, in Greek history, a plane by the name Helios Airways which originated from Larnaca international airport having carried 115 passengers and six cabbing crews faced an accident as a result of oxygen starvation. The incident happened when the crew encountered loss of pressurized oxygen. This made them leave the aircraft swaying in the air and finally landed on the ground leading to the death of a great number of people. Mind disorientation is another effect of hypoxia that happens to a pilot. Since hypoxia is a process which happens bit by bit, one cannot realize its suffering, until he or she experiences oxygen starvation. The disaster is said to remain a hindrance in aircraft operations since flight passengers are not always fully equipped with oxygen backups. Negligence by the flight crews to observe the level of altitudes is another factor that encourages hypoxia to happen frequently. On the other hand, professional training equips the crew with knowledge and competent skills in both aircraft operations and climate conditions. For example, following an article by (Ostheimer2014, P, 276) it is found that the training offers a good understanding of the aircraft routes, weather conditions and safety measures of operation such as oxygen mask donning in the event of hypoxia. When crews are equipped with a good understanding of these operations, hypoxia can be protected from happening, as well as reduce accident incidents brought about by hypoxia disaster. Observing weather conditions can help protect against hypoxia. A sensor device is mounted on them that clip the fingertips. They give immediate readings where 100 percent represents a normal reading while 95 percent indicates the minimum expected value. Below 90 percent, the device gives a warning indicating the presence of hypoxia. Providing passengers with these additional devices can help alleviate hypoxia disaster since the warning signs indicated by this device can prompt immediate safety measures such as rapid descending. Use of Automatic Descent Mode, (ADM) in aircraft, can help solve the hypoxia disaster. This happens in such a way that when depressurization occurs at high altitudes, the ADM gives the passengers a chance to engage in other activities. The activities engaged in include identifying the safest path to follow and staying conscious of the changes. Following a study by (Temme 2017, P, 101-105) it is clear that when this hypoxia phenomenon happens, the computer management that is, the autopilot department guides the aircraft to approach safest altitudes with at with a high velocity. The ADM activation is done when the autopilot is engaged in guiding the flight. This is normally done when the flight is 30,000 feet above, and the cabin is at an altitude of 9700 feet or more as reported by (Winslow 2015, P, 693-701). The ADM helps alleviate the hypoxia disaster by guiding the flight through a specified mechanism. To start with, the ADM guides the flight to turn 90 degrees left. This helps the flight to partially leaving the altitude with depressurization. Secondly, the Autothrottle is automatically engaged when required to reduce the thrust to a resting position. The ADM also makes the flight descend with a relative speed of 10kts lesser than Vmo/Mmo. Before deciding on which altitude to follow a pre-selection of 15000 ft. Altitude is first tested then the ADM is expressed in the middle of the FMA panel. In his article, Zafren (2014, P, 29-39) outlined that When the aircraft reaches 15000ft, it maintains a speed of 250kts, and the ADM remains in control until the autopilot is withdrawn. In conclusion, ADM operation supports hypoxia protection by improving safety operations in aircraft, reducing the workload to the crews in flight and also fully automating the flight system. Learn Mandarin Chinese with Pinyin Romanization Pinyin is a Romanization system used to learn Mandarin. It transcribes the sounds of Mandarin using the Western (Roman) alphabet. Pinyin is most commonly used in Mainland China for teaching school children to read and it is also widely used in teaching materials designed for Westerners who wish to learn Mandarin. Pinyin was developed in the 1950’s in Mainland China and is now the official Romanization system of China, Singapore, the US Library of Congress, and the American Library Association. Library standards allow for easier access to documents by making it easier to locate Chinese language materials. A worldwide standard also facilitates the exchange of data between institutions in various countries. Learning Pinyin is important. It provides a way to read and write Chinese without using Chinese characters - a major hurdle for most people who want to learn Mandarin. Pinyin Perils Pinyin provides a comfortable base for anyone trying to learn Mandarin: it looks familiar. Be careful though! The individual sounds of Pinyin are not always the same as English. For example, ‘c’ in Pinyin is pronounced like the ‘ts’ in ‘bits’. Here’s an example of Pinyin: Ni hao. This means â€Å"hello† and is the sound of these two Chinese characters: ä ½  Ã¥ ¥ ½ It is essential to learn all the sounds of Pinyin. This will provide the foundation for proper Mandarin pronunciation and will allow you to learn Mandarin more easily. Tones The four Mandarin tones are used for clarifying the meaning of words. They are indicated in Pinyin with either numbers or tone marks: ma1 or mÄ  (high-level tone)ma2 or m (rising tone)ma3 or mÇŽ (falling-rising tone)ma4 or m (falling tone) Tones are important in Mandarin because there are many words with the same sound. Pinyin should be written with tone marks to make the meaning of the words clear. Unfortunately, when Pinyin is used in public places (like on street signs or store displays) it usually does not include the tone marks. Here is the Mandarin version of â€Å"hello† written with tons marks: nÇ  hÇŽo or ni3 hao3. Standard Romanization Pinyin is not perfect. It uses many letter combinations which are unknown in English and other Western languages. Anyone who has not studied Pinyin is likely to mispronounce the spellings. Despite its shortcomings, it’s best to have a single system of Romanization for the Mandarin language. Before the official adoption of Pinyin, the differing Romanization systems created confusion about the pronunciation of Chinese words.
